About this property

Looking for that perfect romantic holiday? Squirrel Bank, a beautifully furnished, spacious and con-temporary one-bedroom apartment, might just be the perfect place. This modern apartment is in a quiet residential area close to the lovely, small town of Ambleside. It is spread across the entire up-per floor of this Lakeland stone building which was formerly part of the old Bobbin Mill standing on the banks of Stock Ghyll Beck.

Stroll down Peggy Hill to the specialist shops, excellent restaurants, welcoming cafes, pubs and rec-reational facilities including the excellent cinemas. Go into beautiful Rothay Park to take a level walk by the river. Take a cruise or hire a boat from Waterhead on magnificent Lake Windermere, which is a fifteen-minute walk from the town centre. Get out into the mountain fells from your doorstep and take on one of the acclaimed Lakeland trails such as the walks to the top of Wansfell Pike, Todd Crag or the more challenging Fairfield Horseshoe.

Leave your car in your own undercover space, then take the few steps to the covered entrance porch and front door. Go through the small entrance hall, climb up the stairs to find your stylish and spacious sitting room with dining area. Admire the co-ordinated furnishings and lovely high-pitched ceiling as you walk to the feature window and look out on the panoramic views to gor-geous Loughrigg. Relax on the comfortable suite and listen to your favourite music or browse the internet on your Smart TV. Create a tasty meal in the contemporary fitted kitchen and enjoy with your favourite drink at the stylish dining table. Wake up after a comfortable night in your king size bed and enjoy an invigorating shower in your spacious, modern bathroom.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

The property is located in a beautiful setting with spectacular views. There was a lovely warm welcoming feeling on entering and the property was cleaned and furnished to a very high standard. The complimentary welcome packs were a lovely touch. It felt like home, especially as I used to live in Ambleside in my younger years It was my partners 60th birthday and it was amazing to have a beautiful environment relax in on the evenings after our daily outdoor adventures. We were so sad to leave but have plans to book again and stay at Squirrel bank in the near future. The only constructive point I would make is to have the door number on the wall at the entrance of the steps as it’s not clear of where 28 The Falls is for taxi and delivery drivers. We absolutely loved your beautiful property.
